Moondani Toombadool Centre (MTC)
Established in 2018, the Centre is responsible for all Indigenous matters at Swinburne, including governance, culture, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, teaching and learning, and research. Moondani Toombadool means ‘embracing teaching and learning’ in the Woiwurrung language of the Wurndjeri People.
Evidenced by our long-standing community partnerships, and driven by our commitment to self-determination, we aim to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations to design their own futures.
As a dual-sector university and as a leader in online delivery, Swinburne provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with choice and the ability to study whilst staying connected to country and community.
We respect the sovereignty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and are committed to authentic recognition within teaching and learning and research. Education is transformative, and as leaders in Reconciliation, Swinburne is committed to ensuring all graduates and staff are culturally competent.
Swinburne staff can access further information on the Indigenous Resources wiki (login required).
